Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises taught in a heated and humidified studio. It is an invigorating practice of hatha yoga designed to "wake up" the mind and body. Bikram Yoga is unique and can physically condition the whole body and systems from the inside out. It creates an atmosphere for a calming moving meditation. Designed for first time student or "beginners". All levels of yoga experience or fitness levels are welcomed. Regardless of your age, culture or physical condition you will fit in at our studio.
If you are inflexible, out of shape, stressed out, or otherwise feeling less than your best, this yoga can unlock reserves and abilities you didn't know you had! The yoga practice is pure rejuvenation for your mind, body and spirit. No cell phones ringing or demands to make decisions, this is a chance to unplug and recharge your physical and mental batteries.
We also offer Yin Yoga. Yin is a style of yoga that allows us to work the deeper tissues of the body - ligaments, tendons, joints, and connective tissues. Nearly all of the poses are floor postures which are held for longer periods of time in an 80 degree room. In each posture students will explore an appropriate level of depth, hold for time, resolve to remain still, and exit the pose slowly. Yin yoga is an excellent complement to the Bikram practice. Props are recommended and are available for purchase at the studio.
